The listing fields that rank
| Field | Limit | What to do |

| Short description | 80 chars | One benefit sentence with a secondary keyword |
| Full description | 4,000 chars | Natural paragraphs; repeat key terms a few times, not dozens |
| Screenshots | 2–8 | Phone screens of the app, with short captions |
| Feature graphic | 1024×500 | Required for some placements; brand + one line |
Google Play disallows ranking claims (“best”, “#1”), emoji spam and keyword lists in the title. Check your draft with the listing keyword checker.
Screenshots that sell an app, not a website
Reviewers and users both judge from screenshots. Show:
- The tab bar or native menu.
- A push notification on the lock screen.
- The fastest path to your core action — ordering, booking, reading.
Avoid screenshots of desktop pages or anything with a browser address bar.
Ratings
Ask with Google's in-app review prompt after a success moment — an order delivered, a lesson finished — never on first launch.
Your website is your best install channel
- Add a “Get the app” badge to your header or footer (hide it inside the app).
- Use a smart banner on mobile pages.
- Mention the app in order confirmation emails.
Pass review first time
Give Play reviewers test login details in App access, keep the Data Safety form accurate, and make sure the first screen isn't a login wall with no explanation.
Frequently asked
How long until my converted app ranks on Google Play?
Brand searches work within days. Generic keywords take weeks to months and depend on installs, ratings and retention.
Should the app title match my website name?
Start with your brand so existing customers find you, then add a keyword describing what the app does.
