Convert a PrestaShop store to an app

PrestaShop's classic theme is responsive and converts well. Payment modules and cookie banners are where the surprises hide.

Key takeawayConvert your PrestaShop shop's home URL with a web to app converter. Confirm the theme works at 360px, configure your cookie/GDPR module so consent persists, make sure payment modules that redirect to external gateways return to the order confirmation inside the app, and choose the right shop if you run multistore.

Theme

The Classic theme and most marketplace themes are responsive. Check product pages with many combinations, the layered navigation (filters) and the cart summary at 360px.

Payment modules

Many PrestaShop payment modules redirect to the provider's hosted page and back. In an app, the provider's domain should stay inside the app so the return URL lands on your order confirmation, not in Chrome. Test each module with a real order.

Make sure the consent cookie is set with a sensible lifetime; app users shouldn't see the banner every launch.

Multistore

If you run several shops from one PrestaShop install, build one app per shop with its own start URL, name and icon.

Customer accounts

Order history, addresses and returns work as on the web. Social login modules relying on Google won't work inside the app — keep email login available.

Frequently asked

Do I need a PrestaShop mobile app module?

No. Mobile app modules usually build native apps from the API; a web to app converter uses your storefront URL directly.

Will my PrestaShop theme changes appear in the app?

Yes, immediately — the app loads your live shop.
